I've been cooking for 60 years. One of my sons lives with me now and he does a lot ot the cooking......YEAH! I love looking at and collecting recipes (I have hundreds....maybe THOUSANDS!) but now that you've made me think about it I think I hate to think about the time it takes to cook something nice and then have to clean it up afterward. It's so much easier to go through a drive-in and grab a dollar McChicken....no mess, no fuss.

Me too, me too! I've always said, I don't cook, I heat. Pot pies and microwave meals are my friend. And, sadly, I also live alone.

totally relate. this is the same reason it doesn't pay for me to plan out meals for each day. I don't always feel like eating what I have on hand. My daughter makes her list and plans the whole meal, not always for which day. She'll call me and ask what I bought to go with what. I told her, I go and buy different meats that I know I'll use and sides that I know I'll use and then put them together when that's what I want. In a way that helps her out because since I just buy and don't plan very often if she wants to use what I've gotten I normally don't care. I just know that pre planning doesn't always work with me,. It like taking lunch to work, by the time lunch rolls around many times I don't want what I brought. It bites

I am with all of you out there. I just want the cooked food to suddenly show up, just like on Star Trek when they go to the canteen and tell the thing in the wall what they wanted. You just had to open the food door and there it was piping hot. Just like ordering a hot cup of coffee out of a vending machine. If only...

As long as there is some Special K and skim milk, I am all set for any meal. Fresh fruit is a plus. Or an omelet and toast.

I tend to make one dish and eat it for at least 3 days.

I'd rather eat a granola bar in the car than a mcChicken. Or anything from a fast food place.

When I was first widowed, I ate a lot of the Lean Cuisine type meals. Then I realized I could make them better, and cheaper, myself.
