    Red face Quick meal

Prepare a box of macaroni and cheese (good quality). Brown 1# hamburger with onion. Drain grease and mix with macaroni.

I am a big fan of 'mac' n 'cheese' but can't stand the hamburger helper look. Just me.

Leftover homemade chili with mac/cheese added is one of my favorite winter comfort foods. I don't eat it often, but it sure is yummy.

We love this mac'n cheese & hamb. Quick meal! I also make a mac'n cheese salad by adding mayo to the dried cheese, plus 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp chili pwd, 1/4 tsp garlic pwd, and a couple of shakes of black pepper. Then I chop 1 tomato, about 1/4th c. onion and 1/3 of a green pepper and mix everything with the cooked mac. Cool in frig at least 1 hour before serving. Do not add the dried cheese to the wet macaroni. It is very hard to mix. Likes to stick to the mac in clumps.

Although I haven't done this lately, I have been doing that for over 40 years (minus the onions, since hubby won't eat them). Thanks for the reminder, I think it is time to do it again.

Oh, yes, do try it with ground sausage (take Italian sausage out of their casings and cook up like the hamburger) as it gives it a nice interesting change.

You are right! This salad recipe has been around for a long time. It is a favorite of my kids and now the Grands are asking for it so the can take it back to college and share----most likely they keep it all for themselves! LOL The sausage sounds good too. Will try it. Thanks

I like to make that too. I often add frozen corn or peas to it.
