Default July 4th Fare

I am so tired. I am beat, I am going to sit for three days now hahahha....yesterday I made a cherry cobble with fresh cherries from scratch, no pic on this one but it's half eaten lol. Today, I made the peach cobbler also from scratch and fresh fruit, cold slaw, Island potato salad, baked beans from scratch, that means I soaked the navy beans the night before, cooked them this morning and then sauced them up and baked them along with a ham. My dinner is done for tomorrow. The pic of the beans is before it goes in the oven, I sprinkled fried ham over it. The peaches before the dough is added and then the cobbler all baked. No pic of the ham. I am tired but that's not all I did this.

It's funny but you ended your post with 'Kaffe, Kaffe, Kaffe. I have been sewing with Kaffe Fasset fabric for my quilt.

Everyone have a great Fourth; that food looks great. What traditional food do others eat for the Fourth of July?

I remember fresh corn on the cob, fresh tomatoes, DGM potato salad, three bean salad, fried chicken, Apple pie or Cherry Pie or both, mashed potatoes and gravy. Yep, I was raised down on the small farm in the Mid-West. Miss those meals DGM made. We are retired, empty nest, no close relationship to visit, so I made small pan of BBQ ribs, baked beans, Cole slaw, Apple and Cherry pie. Yes, we can celebrate the day, and rest too.

I showed the pictures to my husband, and he said, "Do you think we can get over there in time??" LOL.

We are currently in Oregon, for the Sisters Quilt Show this week.....

Enjoy!
