Searching for an old Applesauce Cake recipe....

Glad I could help dottientx! This book is full of simple recipes and lots of scraps of paper with more on them. It is in a plastic bag keeping everything together. I also have cookbooks from grandmas on both sides of the family. Interesting to look at the notes and handwriting and figure out where or who the papers probably came from.

I have a 1962 BH&G cookbook and just discovered I don't have an applesauce cake recipe in it. There's an applesauce loaf recipe....I suppose that could be called a cake but it doesn't have the same ingredients nor measurements of the others posted on here. WOW....whoduhthunk?

Don't know if this is the correct one, but I got this recipe from my mother years ago. We make it often. Add some nutmeats as well. I also us it to make soft cookies as it is a very thick batter. Hope it is what you were looking for.
