Powdered Peanut Butter
Those of you who have been reading my posts know that I love cooking with unusual ingredients. This one has caught my curiosity. I keep seeing dishes that use powdered peanut butter. This morning, I found one that mixes it with fat-free whipped topping to make a peanut butter mousse. Sounds delicious! However, I've never seen it in the stores. Has anyone else come across it?

My local Walmart has it. PBFit is on the baking aisle near the flour, and PB2 is on the aisle with the regular peanut butter. Both are surprisingly good, but PBFit is my favorite of the two.
I like mixing up some PBFit and spreading it on a low carb tortilla. Yum! It makes a great treat, and is only 2 WW FreeStyle Points.

I've used it in yogurt with some chocolate chips, and that's pretty good (I'm not a big fan of yogurt). My son made a kebob rub with some that turned out really good too (I'm not sure the name, but it uses a lot of ground ginger with the powdered peanuts). It's also good in milkshakes.
Fred Meyer (a kroger store) has it in both the peanut butter aisle and the health food aisle. We get the one without sugar added.

I use it for PB on toast. Mix it with water but thinner than directions say. May I suggest you taste it first before you use it in a recipe? It is PB2 that I use and while it is a good sub it isn't that great taste with all that squishy oil in it.

I tried one that I purchased from a vitamin store. It was good, but it was priced too high.
I found a large container at Costco and bought it... ugh! They are not all the same. I had to throw it away because it tasted so bad.

I used to get PB2. There was a grocery store around here that carried it. I'd mix it with water and use like peanut butter, use in smoothies, or mix with greek yogurt and sweetner for a mousse-type dessert. It was good. But the last time I got it, it tasted weird like they roasted the peanuts too long. I haven't gotten it since then.
