1 box lemon or orange cake mix
    2 cups (4 &1/2oz carton)frozen whipped topping -thawed
    1 egg
    1/2 cup sifted powered sugar

Grease cookie sheets. combine cake mix, whipped topping and egg in large bowl. Stir until well mixed. Drop by teaspoon into powered sugar, roll to coat. Place 1 1/2 inches apart on cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 10- 15 minutes until light golden brown. Remove from cookie sheet . Cool. Makes about 4 dozen

I have made these cookies for years. They always go on my Christmas cookie trays. You can use any flavor cake mix, works great with chocolate and spice as well.

I've seen the recipe using spice cake, and a large can of pumpkin. That's it. no eggs, no oil, only a few chocolate chips, nuts or raisins. They are so easy and "fall-like".

I will pass, I don't use that "whipped topping" stuff. Our neighbor used to work in the factory that made it and he said he would never let his family eat it again.

Will make these tomorrow for sure. I need to find orange cake mix and am having a problem. Do they still make it?
