I have had mine for about 10 yrs. also, and use it a lot! I use it when I make my smoothies, soups and chili! Nothing will chop up your onions and peppers faster! And let's not forget the homemade peanut butter. Just throw in one can of peanuts (or in my case cashews), and nothing else. It makes chunky or creamy depending on how long it mixes. To clean out the extra peanut butter that is left behind, just add ice and choc. milk and it'll make a great chocolate/peanut butter smoothie!

My favorite juice is 2 cups pineapple juice, 3 stalks celery, a whole orange.
I really like my vitamix! I can't eat most veggies, but can puree them in the vitamix. Often will make a salad for the family , throw a seving in the vitamix with a bit of juice for myself (usually tomato, sometimes pineapple.
You should get a cookbook with yours. Use it as a starting point, but you can throw just about anything in there.

Thanks for all your responses. I did get a cookbook and a DVD with it, but I guess I'm always looking for more things to try. I have had mine now for about a week and I love it. I have used it every day. I even joined weight watchers last night since all fresh fruits are 0 points and I can certainly make them in the vita mix. Enjoy!!!!

AWESOME SMOOTHIE

2 cups frozen strawberries (NO SUGAR)
1/3 cup frozen Orange juice concentrate (NO SUGAR)
1/2 can pineapple in own juice (NO SUGAR)
4 cups or more Almond milk Vanilla flavor (NO SUGAR)to blend till smooth.

This is never made with and added sugar. If you want it a bit sweeter use organic Agave Nectar.

This is my own recipe and we love it!

P.S. you can really add any fruit you like. I have used Mangos too thay are wonderful and make sure to not dump in the pit of the mango!

I have recently received my vitamix (courtesy of QVC) and I love it!!!!!!!!! I use it one or more times every day. Thanks for all the recipes. My most frequent one is 1 whole orange, peeled, one banana, 1/3 cup dry milk and 1- and 1/2 cups of ice/water. This is breakfast and it is delicious. I've recently joined weight watchers and this is only 2 points for the milk.

Sounds like a wonderful machine. I keep thinking I want one but the real question is "will I use it?"
