Yes, that is a good deal and a good start. I have the same one and I use it all the time. There are limitations, but you can do a lot. Make sure to get the quilting patterns with it.

I actually zigzag the two pieces together, then open it, and do a larger zigzag in center of joined pieces. I just fill this will be more stable, especially if the quilts are to be was often.

It depends on the look you want, I tie every 6" with embroidery floss and/ or yarn. I haven't tied in awhile but that is what I use to do.

Around here, they charge 80.00 for a youth quilt. Yes that is low, especially if you think she will bring in clients for you, then your should price higer for future business.
