He cleaned it okay... but there's still grime visible in the hard to reach parts. Thanks for the tip on not using RA, will stick to SMO.

Cleaning outside of machine: dirt, dust, grime, nicotine?

Just got my free Singer 306K back, will need to cleanup more than repair guy did. Was going to use rubbing alcohol + Qtip. Good idea? Better ideas? Vinegar?

She's here! They did a perfunctory cleanup job, so I see some time with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol in my near future. But she's back and she WORKS and omgoodness the stitching! I did a quick test....

Update on my Singer 306 that was FREE (!)

She is fixed, runs just fine (I think, haven't actually spoken to shop but they said come and get 'er) and I pick her up this weekend. I am so excited to sew on this machine. I'll post some pics when...
