    Make sure presser foot is lowered.

    It is easy to forget to lower the presser foot when your have a whole quilt worth of stuff to push through the machine and it is all over the place.

    I agree with Wendy. I think that the top thread did not actually sit in between the upper thread tension discs. Make sure that the presser foot is UP when you thread your machine.

    If getting the lotion onto your back is the issue you could always put a little on the bathroom wall and rub up against it and when you are done, wipe off the excess.

    I made a placemat sized mini twister quilt out of the scraps from the 10 inch square twister. I think that the scrap blocks were 4 inches.
