    I completely agree. THe pattern is designed to fit the fabric so it works great for a layer cake. Regardless of the quilt police I think sashing and cornerstones can be whatever you want it to be.

    I must say that I have been sewing for 50 years on a variety of brands of machines. I have NEVER had a sewing machine light burn out. The machine died before the light did.

    Mettler was commonly sold in quilt shops before Aurifil arrived on the scene. It is still very good 100% cotton thread. I think its a little thicker than Aurifil.
