Just an update. I got the bulb sewjourner found for me. The bulb and fixture work appropriately. Its the warm white light that doesn’t present enough light for my old eyes.

I had that speed issue with the 211g at first but now that I have got her oiled up well I can control the speed really well. It’s amazing what a difference a few drops of oil will do

I don’t think I can edit the title. Apparently this is an LF5 singer light that is often turned into table lighting or other artistic lights. Mine isn’t that perfect but maybe some one wants it?

That groove appears to be from thread wearing on the guide over the years. I was able to use a jewelers file to clean up the rough edges but I think I will order a new thread guide also.

Ok the problem reappeared and I noticed the thread was breaking at the thread guide on the presser foot shank. Everyone said to look for burs. I found one. I had to take it apart to actually see it....

Pulling the bobbin case is not that difficult also insure that the alignment tab is in the correct spot. I learned this week pulling the feed plate has certain issues on different machines

I finally got the 211 G sewing the singer light doesn’t work at the moment. I’m thinking it’s a waste of time to get it working appropriately because it’s not a show piece. It’s a necessity
