Here's what I did for my rulers. You can see that I use the hooks for other things too. I had considered a pegboard but in hindsight, I'm happy we did this. It cost less than $15.

I use this so often on quilt books and piano music that I bought my own binding machine and do it myself. It was somewhere around $50 I think .

There are many, many reasons to avoid those sprays. The glue method is much safer for everyone AND the environment.
I applaud those who came up with the idea of the Elmer's Glue.
