I've noticed that when I iron a patch with the seams ironed in in the same directiion, and tI forms a little lump . This seems to change the size of the patch a tiny bit and throws off the complede...

I use Elmers Glue School Glue too. Love it. I put it on the batting then spread it around with something that has a straight edge like a spatula so that it doesn't dry in lumps.

I think that a lot depends on the type of font, fabric, and density used to stitch your name. If the font has wide dense stitching on it, may leave holes. You might try stitching a small line......

I take mine to the UPS store and they do a great job of packing my quilts! I make sure that they put them in a plastic bag first.
