I couldn't agree more. I always purchase old Black & Decker irons at any thrift shop that has one. The pleasant surprise is that I have three spare ones in my closet because it takes forever for them...

I use regular school glue, Elmer's. I put it on in a fine line, a little at a time, with a toothpick. It works perfectly well and a small bottle of glue lasts forever. 8-)
