    I consider it another method for finishing the edges and have no problem doing it that way if there is extra fabric for this purpose. I do not look upon it as tacky..this method also requires skill.

    Could you use it for storing a quilt...roll up the quilt, insert inside and then place on bed as a bolster? Whenever an extra cover is needed, just take it out and use.
