Ok will have another look... I didn't see another pin (sorry, don't know the lingo) and the manual just showed the small and large spool cover, but the large one didn't fit.

just went to thread my new machine and it seems the thread spools i have don't fit? they're the mettler spools that are just over 1000 yards i believe, nothing huge, but i can't make the cover thing...

it's definitely going to take a while to learn to use that machine, so many features and it has a computer part... and technology sure isn't my friend.

it was kind of a stressful experience...
