    I have a terrible time with seam rippers. They get dull so fast. I have tried different ones but have the same problem. What is the best one that stays sharp for a longer period of time.

    Sometimes it is not the right time to finish a quilt. Start the new one and when that one gets old you may want to take a break and finish the first one. I do that a lot.

    Try another spool of thread. Sometimes they are wound wrong. Or try a different brand of thread. Some machines are fussy about the thread they use. I would use a larger needle for sure.
