    I agree with the needle suggestion - 9 times out of ten it's the needle if stitches are being skipped. For tough sewing I use a Schmetz denim needle, 80/12.

    I guess you could do something similar for mug rugs, perhaps without the beads. I'd be careful of the organza though - the one I used is polyester and quite delicate.
