I have a six qt size,it works great for DH and me. I use it daily,and cook portion sizes just right for us. It’s great to put goodies in,and just walk away.

I machine baste with water solvable thread on top;regular bobbin thread...in a 4 inch grid. I lap quilt without a hoop and get 8 stitches per inch. If I use a hoop,I stitch 10 stitches per inch.

I use a 18 size needle,same thread in bobbin as on top,and make sure to hold the ruler lightly on top of the quilt sandwich.
