So many times I would find a drop-dead georgous fabric and buy 3 or 4 yards, and find I wanted to use it for a border and it would be just not enough! It is really frustrating! If I use it for a smaller project, I always find use for left-overs in other quilts, right down to the last scrap used for applique. I am amazed when I look back at many of my quilts how many of the same fabrics I used each one. I should also say, living in Vanuatu where we had no fabric stores, I loaded up when I came back to the States, so I had a really large stash to pick fabrics from. If I didn't have enough of one for a quilt I wanted to make and If I didn't have another suitable fabric in its place, I had to pick another pattern. I don't have that problem now that I live back in the States.
