Yes, if you think of your body as a processing plant and make it do all of the work instead of the food manufacturers you will make better food choices. I don't know about "white" being the culprit all of the time but whole foods, grains, etc. for everyday use is a better choice. We tend to think that everyday, every meal needs a dessert or sweetened beverage. If we used dessert as a special treat once in a while and stayed away from high calorie sweetened drinks we would all be thinner. Obesity and type II diabetes would be in much lower existence in our society. Of course, that ugly thing called exercise or activity also plays an important role.
Does quilting qualify? Too bad it doesn't burn more calories. The best thing about quilting for me is that I get carried away for hours and forget to have a meal!
