I am sorry for your pain, noone deserves that.
You took plain pieces of fabric and turned it into a beautiful work of art that you should be proud of. Plenty Patriotic as I see it and I was raised in the Military.

Know what I would do? I would go get it from your father and take pictures of it, front and back for your quilt album. Fold it carefully and pack it into a shipping box and send it to Bethesda, Maryland to the Military hospital there. There are organizations that do that sort of thing and I'm sure there is even someone here that could help you. I KNOW some soldier there would just Love it. Not only would you make a soldier feel better, but I'm guessing that you would feel better too. It would be something that a they would treasure. Knowing that a civilian thought enough of someone they didn't even know to give that to them is an honor that will not be soon forgotten.
