i also bought a $100 Rowenta and it leaked so ended up buying a cheap one from walmart. BUT then i bought a Rowenta that has a separate tank where you put the water and you press a button for steam. had it for approx 8 yrs. the base doesn't sit on the ironing board - sometimes it's tricky to get it to sit up b/c of the steam cord but overall i'm pleased with it. it was expensive - $350 but at least it doesn't spit
