Got 2 estimates - they don't even open up your machine to see what's wrong. They say it is the lower main board that has gone bad. Estimate to repair run over $500 board including labor. Is it worth fixing?

Anyone have this model or issue with their machine?
If it were me, I'd get it repaired if possible because you can't buy a machine that comes close for anywhere near that price. I'm looking to buy an older Pfaff, but am afraid of buying a computerized model because the motherboards can go anytime and may or may not be available to replace. It's a shame that these excellent machines are no longer supported. But where's the motive to do so? Better for them to sell us new machines. If I buy a working 7510/7530/7550/7570 and the mother board goes out in a day or a month, and I can't get it replaced, I'm out that $$. But you paid for your machine long ago and the cost of a new motherboard is far less than the cost of an equivalent new machine (and no equal exists).
