My favorite is the Pretty Punch yarn, but use pearl cotton or emb. floss as well--but ALWAYS secure each knot with fray check. I like fluffy quilts--and the MQ ones are NOT fluffy!
I too was taught that if it is tied, it is a comforter......rather than a quilt, but maybe that was the quilt police who started that rumor?
