I have had three Viking sewing machines. A 940, a #1 and Topaz. Love them all. Never had a problem with any - just wanted to upgrade to a fancier model. And have also had two sergers. I do not find the threading any different on my Vikings than other machines. Enjoy - I'm sure you will get many years of enjoyment. You may want to check with a local Viking dealer to get answers and help with your machine.
