I have used a pressure cooker since the 50's. I know for a fact that you do have to follow the directions and be VERY respectful of it. Put the correct amount of water in it and watch the heat. I'm not afraid of it at all. I also have a pressure canner and use it also. YOU MUST BE VERY RESPECTUL of it and FOLLOW DIRECTIONS.
