A dear friend wanted a natural burial. She had worked on a storybook quilt for years and after her diagnosis of stage 3 ovarian cancer she finished up a couple of blocks important to her, friends contributed blocks that said something about her, it was assembled and quilted. When she died, her quilt served as her burial shroud. For as devastating as the loss of this beautiful women was, there was great comfort in the process of helping her on the final journey.
