I'm unsure where my distaste for the word "hobby" stems from, but it feels like people are minimizing the commitment a quilt requires when they refer to my quilting as a "hobby". Stamp collecting is a hobby. I like to think of it more as an art form, in which I have "vision", and then skillfully bring that to fruition. Just curious how you all feel about it. :?
I think of quilting as a vocation, my art. It satisfies my need for self expression. It's my blank canvas on which I can express myself.
