I have had the same Rowenta iron since 1992 and despite falls and sometimes spitting, it is the best iron I have ever had. I learned to iron at 6 yrs old before steam irons came along so that I could help my mother. The Rowenta was on special at Lechmere sales--long gone--and it has worked well for all ironing. Because of rotator cuff injuries and the need for less weight, I was given the latest thing from another company. It shuts off so fast and spits everywhere !
I think I will watch for another Rowenta that does NOT shut off and that is on sale.20 years is great in my book for no repairs and problems. I checked the cspc.gov website and no recalls are noted for Rowenta irons. Maybe nobody tells them about their problems?
My shoulders are much recovered after surgery. I should add !
