I hope I'm not to late to reply regarding this subject. I just recently began practicing applique. I have several applique books including the Piece of Cake stuff. I'm using methods from Ami Sims book called "Invisible Applique." From my first practice it really did produce good results. Her methods are a little different from others. Much success. Linda
