I bought a used Janome MC7500 from a nursing home for $100.00. That was 8 years ago and it is very dependable. Made many quilts for my grandkids and it's still going. It does not need oiling at all. Check Craiglist in your area, you might fined something very inexpensive and in great condition. Good luck on your search.
