Your going to get a multitude of opinions but this subject has come up before. According to this board, and personal friends , the new Rowenta irons are not worth the price. They just don't last. If an automatic shut off is a feature you value I would buy one with it. But having bought the top of the line model irons in the past, my suggestion is to buy the least expensive iron you can find.
