I was taught to never use "starch" on my quilting fabric because it contains flour and will attract insects if stored. I use crisp spray sizing on my fabric. I spray on the right side and iron dry. It gives a smooth workable finish. I have tried Best Press and did not get the best results. The brand of sizing I use is the green can of Magic Sizing.
