It was the end of the day shift in our local community hospital and all the nurses came in to "bet" on the baby's weight. They were calling out their numbers and one said "11 lbs. 1 oz," and I said, "Don't be ridiculous!" She responded, "oh, honey, I'm not guessing, I'm reading the scale!"
