You can do easy curves with a walking foot quite easily. (Not tight curves!) A nice modern look is to use a walking foot to make wavy lines all across the quilt. Repeat, not necessarily making all the waves nest with one another. If you look at some of the quilting patterns of Angela Walters, you will get an idea of this. Google "modern wavy quilting" and click on "images" to find some examples. Here's one, but it's not a very good one:
