I buy whatever glue stick that's cheapest. I read somewhere that you should store them in a zip loc bag in refrigerator to keep them fresh. That's what I do and they don't dry out before I can use them all.
I've had glue sticks in my refrigerator for a long time, but not in plastic bags.
