I have had several machines do this to me. And each ran so much better with a proper belt on it I wondered if it was the same machine.
Joe, I had no idea the Singer original type belts were available. After reading the above, I just ordered 5 of them from sew-classic. My local shop is generally great but only sell the rubber ones.
