Shelley, there are only two places where the serial# is located on your machine. The early machines, 33-35 had a boss located inside the bottom of the machine, under the drip pan. To my knowledge only the early 33's used that spot to stamp the serial#, however the boss was still present on later 33, 34, and some 35 machines until they changed the casting somewhat. Here are a couple examples of the different castings with the third one being a 1941.
The very early 33's only had the serial inside the bottom area and did not even have a boss for the serial on the bottom outside area. The drip pan had to be removed to see the serial.
