I have made this for years -- got the recipe from my mother and no idea where she got it from. The top has almost a sweet glaze on it. It never lasts long.

Banana Tea Ring

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. almond
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. buttermilk
1 c. mashed bananas
1/2 - 1 c. chopped walnuts
Powdered Sugar

DIRECTIONS:
Cream Butter and sugars using an electric mixer until light in color. Blend in eggs and almond -- beat until light in color. In a separate bowl (or large glass measuring cup), mix the bananas and buttermilk. Sift dry ingredients into a bowl or onto parchment or waxed paper.
Alternate adding wet and dry ingredients -- starting and ending with wet. Mix well between additions. Stir in nuts.
Pour in greased tube pan, bunt pan or 2 loaf pans. Bake 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes (or until it pulls away from the sides). Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan. Dust with powdered sugar when almost cool.
