I had back surgery last year, and I find standing to sew is much more comfortable for me. I have two sit/stand adjustable height tables that I got from IKEA. They are fantastic! I also have an adjustable height, rolling saddle stool that I use for sewing and long-arming. My Janome Horizon doesn't require the use of a foot pedal, though.
