The custom for their Christmas gifts to each other is gag or funny gifts. I read a book some years ago written by Diana and Charles housekeeper. It couldn't be published in Britain but could be in America. It was a very detailed account of how the royal household worked. Many many beautiful gifts, many one of a kind, given to Charles and Dianna were burned when the divorce was final. No other way to dispose of them without national scrutiny of why were certain gifts not kept and no one could keep silent about wearing a beautiful handmade blouse given to Dianna.
