I use paste wax, either Briwax or Howards but any good wax will do.
I have a problem. I have one spot that the shellac kerps peeling on. I put a little boiled linseed oil on, put a light coat on, started peeling. Took everything off, did it again, same spot doesn't want to get shellac. Third time, same thing.
