Make sure your Dr. knows that you do not want something that knocks you out. I have done the gammet on muscle relaxers. The flexeral works but was tuff on my tummy. You may want to look into a tens machine. They are wonderful and actually reteach the nerves not to send that pain signal. I have used it on shoulders and back. Check around if insurance doesn't cover one if needed. The prices vary. I had a high dollar insurance pd rental and then a cheapie that insurance bought. no difference between how they worked or the effectiveness. Good luck.
