I think the Hobo Quilt is really cool and want to do one. I'd also like to do a Bible quilt featuring the parables or miracles of Jesus.

Dolores, it's about the guys who rode the trains from city to city looking for work. They would stow away and ride for free unless they were caught by the Bulls (men who would beat them with a sticK). This is also part of our History. The Hobo left signs for each other. and someone had the neat idea of making them into a quilt....just like the Farmers's wife, the Civil War Love Letters ..etc.

Gee Rosy!! Another one to the list!!! Sew many projects and so little time!!!

I was reading some reviews about the book and it sounds like there are problems with the template sizing. Check it out here:

Thank you - I was just wondering what the Hobo Quilt looked like.
I didn't realize they had been beaten.

Sometimes. I had a couple of twin Uncles that hoboed to avoid work.
  Like anything else, there were good ones, there were bad ones and there were ones like my uncles that just did it to be doing it. They said they wanted to see other places. Of course it didn't help their wives and children much.

This quilt was just on "Sewing with Nancy" saturday morning. It's really a nice one. It was made out of mostly homespuns. I'll look for this on google too.
