Hancock Fabrics here in Oklahoma City carries the Gutterman made in Mexico and Jo-Ann Fabrics carries the Gutterman made in Germany.
Good to know...just checked, all mine was made in Germany.

I have 2 Janomes and haven't had any problems with Gutterman. Is the clerk trying to get you to buy what they have?

I use Gutterman a lot, and even use the Coats and Clark on my Janome 6600, and find they both work just fine for me.

I have not had a hard time with guttermann thread although I mostly use coats & clark or just coats.

I use guttermann also without a problem. I get the large spool at 40% off with coupon.

I always use Gutterman on my Janome, which I buy in giant reels--black, off white and white--and use to sew everything. It gives me far less trouble than any other brand.

You might have just solved the clue. I use the Guttermann I buy at Joannes and that is the only fabric store around our area, since Walmart does not sell fabric here, fabric stroes are few and far between, We used to have a Hancock Fabric store, but they closed down and never reopened on on this side of town so you have to drive 30 minutes to get to one of them. Even some of the quilt stores have closed and they are far & betwenalso., but now that fall/winter is coming, quilt shows are happening and fabric comes right along with it,but so does the prices of the material an we all know they mark that stuff up.

Hi As far as I am concerned I will not use G anymore as it sheds fibres badly and it is not cheap It also breaks easily which it never used to. I use Isocord now as it is strong G It used to be good but not now Carmen

Neither one of my Janomes like the Gutterman thread, they prefer Aurafill or Mettler. My 2 Brothers really don't care for Gutterman either...
