I owned a beauty shop for years and worked for 30 years plus. Now that I'm retired, I taught my sister (10 years younger than me) how to cut hair. Now we get together every few weeks and cut each others hair and keep our hubbys trimmed up. When I first started working haircuts were 75 cents to one dollar. Now, most are somewhere twenty dollars or more.

Every 8-9 weeks I pay $90 for a color, shampoo, cut and blow out. There are places that this price would not even get you a cut alone. Ot you can go to WalMart and get a much cheaper cut.

I go to a small shop in town and it is $12 for a cut. I always give her a good tip and buy all my shampoo/conditioner there. I live in a very small town and love that it is so close to home.

I went almost bald before my transplant so now that its long and thick I can't talk myself into cutting it -its 3/4 down my back and I promised my SIL that as soon as I can sit on it again I'd donate 14inches to Locks of Love from the sounds of it I'd better start saving to afford the hair cut after they whack off the 14 inches- My last real haircut was $10 in 1987

I have a medical problem and have to wear wigs. I get them from Paula Young and never pay more than $35 each. I buy about 4 a year. But now I'm starting to have hair again and I'm worrying about the expense it will be to keep it looking good. I guess that will be a good problem to have!

My DIL is struggling a bit financially so once a month she comes by and trims my hair does my roots and a pedicure for $70.00. I wish I could afford to pay her more but I help in other ways also.

Prices will vary from shop to shop and area to area. I get my hair cut, colored, styled, dried, eyebrows waxed for around $65. (I live rural..the prices are great!) Sometimes she highlights my hair...

I believe that you should visit a stylist 2-3 times to give THEM the opportunity to know your hair and how to cut it. I was loyal to one stylist for 15 years and hated to leave him. (I moved 2 hours away.) I have used the same gal now for about 7 years in my new home. I just sit in the chair and let her go! She is free to change my haircut (it stays about the same anyway..short) and color away! I really don't care and I have always been happy with the cut and color. It is my only pampering I do every 4 weeks. I get pedicures every 8 weeks during sandal season but I rarely get a manicure....I am too rough on my nails and within a few days, teh polish is chipped thanks to my doings...

Tou will never believe this I get a fantastic hair cut for EIGHT dollars from a wonderful lady that has a shop in her home. I have very fine hard to style hair. I get a perfect cut everytime. I always feel so guilty when I go there she refuses to take a tip or accept any extra money . She is so good that my out of town guests will often get their hair done whene visiting me

i HAD A REGULAR STYLISTS WHOM I LOVED THE WAY SHE CUT----LEFT TOWN FOR 3 YEARS -- CAME BACK LOOKED HER UP FOR A CUT----OMG!!! SO DISAPPOINTED----BUT THERE WAS A NEW PLACE OPENED BY MY WORK AND THOUGHT I WOULD TRY---FAN-TABULOUS!!! I CAN GET UP IN THE MORNING AND JUST COME IT OUT AND "WALLA" GOOD---AND IT COST ME $7!!!! AS FAR AS COLOR--COMES FROM WAL-MART LOREAL BOX 6 1-2.....AND DEPENDS ON TIME OF YEAR WHAT COLOR "HIGHLIGHT" THE GRANDKIDS WANT TO ADD!!!!
