I just practice FMQ with my left over batting...and make small gift items from them too. Looks like you got all kinds of good advice on this, now I guess you need to experiment with your scrap batting and tell us what you have decided to do and how it came out!

Have you tried Quilt As You Go, String blocks? Heartstrings.com (or Mary Johnson's site) have lots of good ideas and hints on using strings of batting and fabric. I have completed several QAYG block/quilts for Quilts of Valor this way. Using up every scrap is an unreachable goal, I found, because they multiply behind your back!! :lol:

you can d;o the quilt as you g method, where you place the batting between the layers and quilt each block individually....tha would take care o small pieces. i have pieced for a baby quilt before, too, if you don't have large pieces.

I probably have about 80 circles in a box right now. I'll need a few more to make a bed quilt. It's a great way to use up scraps of everything, although I do use muslin for the one side of the circle just to tone it down a bit and unify it.
