In 2008 I came across a site with the Shepherd's light quilt pattern at Kigraham Neighborhood website. I downloaded the main directions but forgot to get the Lemoyne Star instructions for that particular quilt. Doe anyone know of the site I am talking about and does anyone have the directions for that particular Lemoyne star pattern? Thank you.

the Lemoyne star is really just HSTs to create... I did it for my neighbor for a baby quilt... I can draft out the pattern if you cannot find a site?
Here's one, hope this helps you...

I am so glad you mentioned the LeMoyne is just HSTs. My Grandmother made one but it had not been quilted. I had a church group in Fredonia, Kansas quilt it. It was the first time I had ever seen stitch in the ditch. I didn't know about HST when we had this done. I want to make all the kids a pillow to match their quilts. I can do this one. I am about done piecing the 54-40 which has triangles (uneven) and I swear I never want to see another triangle.

Parrothead, that is a beautiful quilt. And I know you will treasure it.

Your quilt is beautiful. I may be dumb, but what does HST stand for? I am a fairly new quilter so I don't yet know all the jargon. Thanks.

HST is half-square triangle. Made by sewing 2 squares on the diagonal 1/4 inch either side of the diagonal line drawn from corner to corner and then cutting on the drawn line.

    Thanks. That makes sense.

Here is a photo of the quilt I am searching for, or the patterns.

Fabric Whisperer, that is a beautiful quilt. Did you use an 8" star pattern or larger? I really love how you came up with this pattern.

I must explain. This is not my quilt but I found it at another site, Kigraham Members. Shaw. When i downloaded this photo I got part of the patterns, but not all and now when I go back to that site, most of it is closed down. I was just wondering if anyone else has ever happened on to it and may have the rest of the patterns.

The Shepherd's Light star pattern is not a Lemoyne star, although it is based on the same shapes. The pattern for Shepherd's Light is part of the Shepherd's Light series now available to purchase as a PDF from: http://members.shaw.ca/kigraham/

Thanks for the kind comments about this quilt. A gentle reminder that this is an original design which means that I hold the copyright: it would not be legal for anyone to share their copies of this file or any other file from a designer's website. After a significant length of time when these patterns were available for free [in this case, three years], they were made available for purchase in order to support the costs of maintaining the website to provide new free patterns.

Sadly, like many quilt designers, one reason I no longer share original designs for free is that too many people felt that "free" meant they were free to reproduce and redistribute our designs, post our graphics to newsgroups or their own sites or otherwise infringe on copyright. When that happens, I lose the potential revenue and can no longer afford to continue designing and offering the Bible blocks for free.

It's too late for Quilter's Neighbourhood, but that's my gentle reminder for those who forget that anything that's "free" on the web has been designed by someone, and that someone has the right to determine how her work is used.
